The \u201cBhalodia-Khetan Summer Research Excellence Award\u201d (SREA), set up through the generous support of New Jersey based well-wishers of IIT Gandhinagar, Ms Vidya Bhalodia and Dr Amit Khetan, will recognize excellence in research conducted during IIT Gandhinagar’s flagship Summer Research Internship Program. Annually, three awards of Rs. 50,000 each will be awarded in the fields of Engineering, Natural Science, and Humanities & Social Sciences, with one award given per category.<\/span><\/p>\n Dr Amit is Senior Vice President in Quantitative Analysis at D E Shaw & Co.\u00a0He\u00a0completed his BS and MS in Computer Science from MIT, and PhD in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley. He\u00a0has previously worked with\u00a0Goldman Sachs,\u00a0the Institute of Defense Analysis, and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.\u00a0Ms Vidya\u00a0is a Data Scientist in the healthcare sector and works on analytics with clinical perspectives to make people\u2019s lives better. She holds a\u00a0BS and MA in Neuroscience from Caltech and Washington University, St Louis, respectively, and a Master\u2019s in Software Engineering and a Certification in Data Sciences from Harvard University.<\/p>\n Vidya and Amit are strong believers in giving back to society, and have set up this award in honor of their parents.
